Grants are probably the most common source of funding for senior safe mobility. Grant writing can be challenging and time consuming. Getting grants is about writing good proposals that are in-line with the funding agencys priorities, but it is also about establishing relationships with funding agencies to increase your chances of future funding. When seeking funds, dont forget to explore local corporate grantmakers and foundations. The Foundation Center provides a list of private and public foundations and corporate grantmakers.

Forming a coalition will lend additional support and credibility to your efforts and is often helpful in bringing in funds to support the improvement of safe mobility for seniors in your community. Coalitions also enable member agencies to "pool" resources. Bringing private sector partners and politicians into your coalition is another important way to gather support for your work and bring in funds for your efforts.
